The People of Flagstaff Community Learning Centre

Val Rathjen
My name is Val Rathjen, and I took on the role of interm-Coordinator of Flagstaff Adult Learning in October 2005. Initially I was sitting in while Leda Johnson was on medical leave. Leda eventually chose to resign after years of faithful service. At that point I became the official Coordinator.

Over the past 2 years I have had the opportunity to meet and work with many great people in the Flagstaff area. I love my job and the chance to bring great learning opportunities to the people in our community. I am always searching for new course ideas and to know what classes folks would be interested in, people can contact me at the Learning Centre office 385-3712.
Lois Polege
Lois Polege has been the Coordinator of the Flagstaff Literacy Project since 1999. Born and raised in Flagstaff County, her adventures have taken her to Winnipeg for a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Arts, and to Papua New Guinea for 5 years as a volunteer teacher. An avid reader, she enjoys sharing the gift of learning with others and the privilege of working with some fantastic volunteers.

Flagstaff Community Adult Learning is governed by a volunteer Board with members from throughout Flagstaff County. New members are welcome - we need your input! If you have trebuchet msortunities and would like to get involved, please contact the office at 780-385-3712. The board meets about five times a year, and travel and childcare expenses are covered. Check the orientation package below for more information.
